WELCOME TO MARKET CROSS SURGERY

BLOOD TESTS - URGENT NOTIFICATION  - OCTOBER 2020

UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS A NATIONAL PROBLEM WITH THE CHEMICALS USED BY LABORATORIES WHEN TESTING BLOOD SAMPLES.

SO, WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED TO PAUSE ROUTINE TESTING OF BLOOD SAMPLES.  WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN A NORMAL SERVICE WILL RESUME.

REGRETTABLY WE WILL HAVE TO CONTACT MANY PATIENTS TO CANCEL THEIR BLOOD TEST APPOINTMENTS.  WE RECOGNISE THIS WILL CAUSE FRUSTRATION AND ANXIETY AND APOLOGISE FOR THIS BUT THIS SITUATION IS COMPLETELY OUTSIDE THE PRACTICE'S CONTROL.

THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IS LOOKING INTO THIS AND WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ONCE WE HAVE MORE INFORMATION.

PATIENTS WHO REQUIRE URGENT BLOOD TESTS WILL BE PRIORITISED BY THE CLINICAL TEAM.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AT THIS TIME.

Our Flu Vaccination campaign is now well underway.  Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will only be able to operate clinics with booked appointment slots, meaning only patients with an appointment will be allowed into the surgery premises during these clinics

We have held some clinics over the last month and have received some very positive patient feedback from those who attended.  It is paramount that we keep both patients and our staff safe, by adhering to COVID-19 guidelines at all times

BOOKABLE APPOINTMENTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR OUR PATIENTS, WHO FALL INTO THE FOLLOWING TWO CATEGORIES:

Over 65 years of age

Under 65 years of age, in the at risk groups

PLEASE CONTACT OUR RECEPTION TEAM TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

We are awaiting further guidance with regards to patients aged 50-64 years who are not in the at risk categories.  Further information will be published on this website when available
